What is it?
PMG provides information on parliamentary committee proceedings in the form of detailed, unofficial minutes, documents and sound recordings of the meeting.
- Detailed meeting minutes and supporting documents
- Profiles of MPs present at meetings
- Download audio recordings
- Get free email alerts on a specific committee's activities
Why is it Important?
The PMG was created to ensure there was an accessible record of all parliamentary proceedings. This type of information is needed by citizens, civil society organisations and government officials to better understand policy positions and engage with MPs on policy development and executive oversight.
How can it be accessed and used?
PMG representatives attend all parliamentary committee meetings, where the proceedings are taped, minutes are taken and all documents tabled are obtained. Straight after the meeting, the audio is made available on the PMG website and once a detailed report has been complied, it is edited and goes through quality control before being published online, within thee working days of the meeting.
PMG information can be accessed via the home page.
From there you can browse content by committee or meeting, MP, bill, and even questions to ministers. You can also track meeting attendance by MPs and see what is ahead for the week in parliament on the PMG blog.
